The LGBTQ+ book, which has been hailed a landmark novel, has been a huge success since being launched in the UK last year. Studio Crook landed the deal ahead of the US publication of GAY CLUB! by Scholastic next month. This is the latest in a line of acquisitions for the new scripted arm of the Brighton-based indie. The production company, founded in 2021 by former managing director of Crook Productions, Matt Crook, optioned Phil Earle’s World War II novel, When the Sky Falls in February.
